Proposed Industrial Manslaughter Law

A draft bill is currently before the Parliament to introduce a new offence of industrial manslaughter to workplace health and safety law.

The penalties proposed include imprisonment and very high monetary fines.

We are currently liaising with TasFarmers, Fruit Growers Tasmania, Dairy Tasmania and Wine Tasmania to ensure that any changes are fair and reasonable.
