Scholarship Winners
With so many great applicants for the October 2024 Primary Employers Tasmania and the Tasmanian Pork Industry Scholarship it has been decided to grant two scholarships.
We are pleased to advise that Emily Roberts and Tasmanian Agricultural Productivity Group (TAPG) are the winners.
Emily is a CPA accountant working with agricultural businesses focusing on carbon accounting in the agriculture sector. She will be using her scholarship to attend the University of Melbourne for a course designed to provide practical skills in carbon-neutral farming. These skills can be applied to agribusinesses to develop sustainable practices, improve productivity and reduce greenhouse emissions in line with government and supply chain targets for carbon neutrality.
TAPG will be using their scholarship for the presentation by Dr Mike Stephens AM. Mike’s presentation is titled, “Agriculture in society, past, present and future.” Mike will speak to his areas of expertise being succession planning, family business management, facilitation and capacity building.
We thank all applicants for the time they put into their applications and have suggested they apply again for the next round.
The next scholarship will be in 2025 with applications closing on 31 March 2025. Details and application forms are available on the Primary Employers Tasmania website.
