Join the Primary Employers Tasmania Executive Committee
Primary Employers Tasmania encourages its members to consider applying for a casual vacancy on the Executive Committee (Board) of the organisation. Primary Employers Tasmania has a long and proud history of providing members with expert workplace relations advice and advocacy on behalf of employers in primary industries.
Joining the Executive Committee is an opportunity to ensure Primary Employers Tasmania continues to offer highly valued services to its members, and deliver projects that support our primary industries. It's also an excellent way to broaden your governance skills and keep across the key issues facing employers in primary industries today.
Am I eligible?
All members of Primary Employers Tasmania are eligible to be on the Executive Committee.
What would I be committing to?
The term of the casual vacancy ends at the Annual General Meeting in 2025. The position is voluntary. The Executive Committee meets six times a year, plus the Annual General Meeting. Meetings are generally every two months and take 3-4 hours. The meeting venues vary, but are generally in the north of the State. Participation via phone or video conference is supported. At present, meetings are held on the third Thursday of every second month, from 10am-2pm. Committee members are also encouraged to participate in a subcommittee. The subcommittees exist to support good governance of the organisation and to spread the workload across the Committee. Subcommittee participation is a great way to get involved in an area of the organisation you are most interested in, such as financial management, marketing or training. Subcommittees generally meet six times a year, between Committee meetings. Subcommittee meetings take approximately one hour and are usually conducted by phone or video conference. In total, please allow at least eight hours a month to cover meeting preparation, travel time, meetings and follow up.
