Primary Employers Tasmania and the Tasmanian Pork Industry Association are pleased to announce that applications for the $5,000 Agri Development Scholarship are now open. The scholarships are available to Tasmanians with an interest in primary industries, to encourage personal development and best practice in Tasmania’s agricultural sector.

There are three possible funding streams:

1.      To attend an event or enrol in a course of the applicant’s choice,

2.      To attend an event selected by Primary Employers Tasmania and the Tasmanian Pork Industry, or

3.      To facilitate a guest speaker to attend at a primary industries function in Tasmania or organise a primary industries function in Tasmania.

Previous winners have used the funds to attend management training through both Rabobank and Marcus Oldham College. The Tasmanian Agricultural Education Network were able to send some of their teachers to a conference in Queensland.

TAPG were able to use the Agri Development Scholarship to bring leading social researcher, Michael McQueen, to Tasmania to speak to farmers about the challenges and opportunities associated with employing Generation Z.

There are plenty of opportunities to use the funds and we encourage those with an interest to apply.
