Welcome to Primary Employers Tasmania’s AgCard
Congratulations on taking this important step to proactively and positively embrace a safe workplace.
Primary Employers Tasmania is delighted that you have chosen a career in Tasmania’s agricultural industries and we look forward to working with you to improve farm safety and reduce the number of incidents and fatalities.
This pre-farm employment induction program is designed to assist farm employers and employees identify and manage workplace health and safety risks, and provide essential awareness and understanding of WH&S procedures and human resources principles.
There are two courses for you to complete:
AgCard Safe Farming – focused on promoting conversations about workplace health and safety, identifying hazards in the farm workplace and minimising risks; and
AgCard Human Resources – designed to help you understand and meet your obligations in the workplace as an employee.
Once you have completed both units, a Primary Employers Tasmania’s AgCard Certificate of Completion will be provided so you can include this as part of your resume and ensure that all employers and employees are on the same page for all future farm safety conversations.
There is no cost for Tasmanian farm employers or employees to complete the practical training prior to 31st December 2021. However, a fee will apply to all non-Primary Employers Tasmania members from 1 January 2022. Students will remain free.
The course is easy to complete, so please take a moment to log in below, sign up for a free account, access the two courses from the dashboard and start working through the content in your own time. Remember, you can save where you are up to and sign back in to your account to complete any time. Once completed, your AgCard is valid for three years.
